An auction of some of Persepolis FC’s assets was held, raising around 2 billion tomans to help pay off the club’s debt.

According to a report by a sports economics website, citing Fars, a Tehran court ordered the seizure and auction of Persepolis FC's assets following a complaint by one of the club's creditors. The auction was eventually held, and some of the club's assets were sold.

The auction included 288 items from Persepolis FC, such as computers, printers, refrigerators, copiers, scanners, water coolers, televisions, air conditioners, microphones, speakers, desk phones, swivel chairs, password safes, comfortable furniture, and other equipment.

Judiciary experts valued these 288 items at nearly 2 billion tomans, and the proceeds from the sale of the club's assets were used to pay part of the debt, totaling approximately 2 billion tomans.

Notably, the buyer of Persepolis FC's assets was a subsidiary company of one of the club's major bank shareholders, which raises questions about the auction's legitimacy given Persepolis' ownership structure.

While the sale of seized assets covered around 2 billion tomans of the club's original debt, which was in the tens of billions of tomans, a significant portion of the debt remains unpaid.

Legal efforts to recover the remaining debt are ongoing, and Persepolis FC must take action to address the outstanding debt and prevent further legal complications.

End of message.
